Man is created in the image of God , hence he has the ability to create, which is the inherent nature of God , If man is made in the image of God then every emotion or feeling man has, God must be also capable of feeling , the fact that you are part of him n he is part of you is simply enough for acceptenace to occur , There is no good or evil but thinking makes it so. Respect others rights and beliefs and judge not lest ye be judged . Giving money to organised religion won't help you one bit do you think God would want you to give away what you've worked so hard to achieve, to an organisation , that has existed for over 1000 years , on the back of human misery

Yes God is perfect. In fact, He alone is perfect. Nothing you do can impress God enough to get Him to accept you, except to admit to Him you're a sinner, ask His forgiveness, repent of your sin, receive Jesus CHrist as the Lord and Saviour of your life and place your faith in Him.That's when God accepts you. He will accept anyone who believes on Him and accepts Him. It is not a point system. The Bible is very clear that no one can earn or buy their way into Heaven. We are saved by grace through faith, and not of works, lest anyone should boast. We all have been born with a sinful, fallen nature within and therefore all our righteousness is like filthy rags in His sight. Once saved then we will want to do good works out of love for and obedience to God and out of love and compassion for our fellow man.The only way to salvation is Jesus Christ. As He said Himself, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me."

A human can't impress God, just as a picture doesn't impress the artist. Every hour you get the chance to show Him your love of Him by what you think and do. But the best thing one can do is to put off the old man, which is to say, yield your thought up to the new man, which is subjecting human thought to bondage.

God doesn't accept us because of the works we do. He wants to have a personal relationship with us because he loves us so much... in a way we can't even imagine. We don't have to try to be "good enough." God is delighted when we simply love Him with all our hearts, and love each other. If we keep seeking after God, He will always be there, no matter what.

Undying faith. It is once again difficult to try and compare God with humans by saying God needs to be "impressed".
A similar human example:
A general expects his troops to be loyal to him.
The troops are under his command.
The troops must do the best they can, but this does not impress the general, because that is expected of them.
In short, in order to "impress" God, you must have previously never known God (not possible?)

Illustration: A young man may court a young lady, telling her that he loves her. But if he never asks her to marry him, is he really demonstrating that his love is thorough?
Likewise, works are a means of demonstrating the genuineness of our faith and our love. If we do not obey God we do not really love him or have faith in the rightness of his ways. (1 John 5:3, 4)
We must try our best, even in our imperfect way that we trust Him completely.

"What can we do to get Him to accept us?" -- GOD already accepts everyone as they are. Humans have to accept that - and do better to be better - treat each other better.
"...worth some points, right?" - There is no such thing as a point system to quantify your life to GOD, to gain favors.
I can not help more than this, as I myself have failed so many times - abstaining from sin, helping people, time or money to others, these and many other failures prevent me from coming up with a hopeful answer for you.

What you have to do is believe on Jesus and be born again by the Holy Spirit. Then you have to let the Spirit lead you into the good works that God has prepared for you to do.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Pray and read the Bible so that you can grow in your relationship with Jesus and learn from gifted teachers like my Pastor who can give you insights into how to live the Christian life God's way http://www.oneplace.com/ministries/enduring_truth/archives.asp
If you just run out on your own and try to do things to please God then you will be operating according to your own agenda instead of God's perfect plan for your life. Jesus said....
John 15:1 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch of mine that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

To do the hardest thing any human can do...bow a knee and confess sincerely that Jesus Christ is your LORD and Saviour and that you are a sinner! That, in the least, will make you acceptable to live with him for all eternity! But it must start with that!

I'm far from perfect, so for me to impress a perfect God is a tall order. I just try to live my life according to simple ideals and as honestly as possible.
