Birth control pills require 2 menstrual cycles to be 99% effective against pregnancy. Use back-up birth control for 60 days.

You also need to take the pills as close to 24 hours apart as possible, not 7 am one day and 11 pm the next day. This is how people "accidentally" get pregnant on the pill.

minutes to dissolve could be minutes or hours to be effective depending on the type of medication
