Because when Israel was created by the British pull out somewhere after ww2. The land prior to that was known as Palestine the land was annexed and given to the Jews and renamed Israel.. The Palestinians still consider it their land so they created the PLO to try and take it back .
I am a neutral person and I know depending on who you ask the other side is responsible. I believe there is a great deal of fault on both sides of the conflict.
I did a UN tour in Israel and am in no way an expert but I am neutral .I can say that neither side is Innocent..

Israel started settleing in palastine around 1900.
after ww2 and the holocast england gave there palastine colony to the jews ( after a jewish terror campaign to drive the brits out)
in the treaty they gave the jews 55% and the arabs 45% the arabs said no way and declared war. well the jews had western support so the arabs got there *** kicked and were forced inot gaza and the west bank. then the jews started just killin palastinians and driving them out into joran and labanon. the arab league created the PLO as a means to fight the jews from inside the own country. Eygpt and Syria have been long time enemys of Israel and supported and sponsered it's creation of the plo.
it was created to fight off the jewish preseance in the middle east.
because Israel was just killing them badly and they had no real defense other then to run away.
it goes on and on, there are lots of wars
the most interesting war is the lebanese civil war 75-91'
