Today my 8 y/o daughter was watching the Disney Channel at 2:30 p.m. The show was The Proud Family. It is a cartoon. She does not usually watch this program, but it was what was on at the time.

I saw and heard this personally. On the program, 3 girls were having a conflict with another girl at school. One of the girls said "She's a bi-atch" (pronounced bee-atch) which is the teen slang version of *****.

The Disney Channel said ***** to our precious children at 2:30 in the afternoon!

What good is the V-chip now?

Honestly, I think that that is deplorable! Who monitors these shows before they put them on in the middle of the day? Did you email the network about this? You should take the proactive approach! There are hundreds of thousands of parents who weren't paying attn enough to hear that phrase on the show, so now it is up to you to be the one who writes and complains and makes it appparent to the network that this type of programming is unacceptable for our children! -Janet

well...at least they didn't say " b itch" I'm sorry that the slang of today is not what it was back in your day. If you don't like the fact that that term is used, dont watch the show anymore. But, thats an insight as to what kids really talk like these days. You're not going to be able to shelter your children forever.

I think you need to sit down with your child and tell them that just because they say these things on tv, doesnt make it right. and don't make a big deal out of it in front of them. They will want to reble, just because it makes you mad.

And, on a personal note, you shouldn't have to rely on some "v-chip" to censor your childrens programing. You are an adult! You should be doing that! So I don't think you should be getting p issed at your precious v-chip, or the disney channel. you didn't do your job to keep your child from watching something YOU didn't want them to see....

No, my son did not watch disney today. He's been watching Backyardigans (Nick Jr.) lately.

He's not quite 2, but I wouldn't want him to be watching stuff like that, even if he can't completely understand what is being said!
