No, it is not okay. It is better to get them both fixed and if you're wanting another dog, adopt one from the shelter. There are enough unwanted animals in the world. Please don't add to the problem.

What do I think would result from breeding a golden retriever and a labrador retriever ?

A MUTT !!

Cute, but why on earth would you even want to add to the overpopulation of homeless and shelter dogs??
Be sensible and neuter/spay your pets!!

If you are not planning to try to show the pups or sell them, go for it. They are both good dogs and will more than likely produce some really nice pups. Besides, mix breeds make better pets and they live longer than pedigree animals.

is there a good reason you want to breed them or are you just curious about what the results would be?? and remember a dog has multiple babies not just one. so if you only want one pup then what about the others??
be a responsible pet owner and get them fixed.

You are not a professional breeder and i doubt your dogs are prize winning show dogs. Don't breed them. There are enough unwanted, poorly bred dogs in shelters.
