learn to meditate by taking yoga.
you can learn to purposely relax and engage your
parasympathetic nervous system and it really lowers
your blood pressure. and yes, you can learn to do it on purpose
when they are taking it.

First of all, I'm suggesting that next time you hit the little spell check button on the corner of the box.

Second of all, its really simple to calm your nerves. My mom has to check her blood pressure everyday, and I have tried it out a lot of times. So here are my tips.

Before you do it, focus on something else for a long time. I watch the tv before I use it, because it is portable. If you're elsewhere, look around the room, at the pictures etc.

When you have it on... DON'T MOVE AT ALL.

Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, making sure every muscle in your body is relaxed.

And, don't freak out. You can take your blood pressure multiple times without it affecting you in any way.
