Per the Pediatrician, took him to Childrens Hopital, diagnosed with ADHD, but a Physiatrist Dr. found a large faded brown spot going around his left side, & noticed slight white faded like marks all over his body, I never new they were there cuz they are so light. What is this? he couldn't tell me. Also has to see a Neurologist for behavior, loud, noises, impulsivity, hurting kids, tripps & had a horrible nose bleed at the time of the visit. Gets lots of nose bleeds & bright red ears. Dr. was concerened about that too. Couldn't jump on 1 foot, or either foot, so Dr. says his coordination is off & scheduled an MRI. What is the Dr. looking for? Also scheduled an ear test. He couldn't tell me what else he could find. Blood work was ordered too. He put him on Risperidal 0.5mg. What is that for? ADHD? does it work. Dr. says this all the signs of my son is Neurological related. What could all this be? He was diagnosed w/ developmental dealy at 1yr. & had a normal MRI. Thank you

I'm not a doctor but the skin discoloration and balance issues can be a sign of neurofibromatosis.

If it is neurologically related it isn't ADHD or ADD. Please insist that your child's doctor take the time to explain what is going on.

Risperidal is used in the treatment of mental imbalances (Schizophrenia Bi-Polar Disorder, Autism), you can find out more by doing a search of the medication on the internet.

You need to find out why the child is being treated with this drug if it is a nerve disorder.

Be careful with those nincompoop psychiatrists. I would get him out of that hospital, which doesn't sound like it has very qualified personell to me. They probably need to treat one another.

In my humble opinion, there is no such thing as "ADHD" and don't allow those swines give him medication before getting an opinion from a sensible doctor.

ADHD stands for ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER. Lots of kids get this but there is medication to control it.
