Lust, gluttony, avarice, laziness, wrath, envy and pride are the 7 deadly sins, right? Are these the sins that Jesus supposedly died for (in the Christian religion) or are there other sins as well? Please site your sources if possible.

A "sin" is ANY transgression AGAINST The Law, or the Ten Commandments, as it is written. The first three Laws are for God and the remaining seven Laws are for Man...

The so-called "Seven Deadly Sins" is an invention or fabrication of the RCC since they are not found as such in the Bible. However, for the most part, they do pertain only to the sins against Man, or are temporal in nature.

Have you noticed that the list you mention does not include sins of idolatry, blasphemy or not consecrating the Sabbath [the seventh day]??

Here's a test: Compare the entries of Exodus 20:1-17 between a Catholic Bible and a KJV Bible; and further, compare it to the Ten Commandments as professed by the RCC in their Catechism books. You will see certain differences between them... But I digress.

To answer your question, Jesus died for ALL the sins of every repentant sinner who begs for forgiveness and vows to sin no more... as it is written. CAVEAT: Of course, when you sin again then all bets are off!

Peace be with you.

No, this is a false doctrine of the Catholic Church. Christ died for ALL sins that have ever been committed by the entire human race. The only sin he could not die for was the sin of rejecting Him. That is a choice that is up to you. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.

Sin comes from the soul, from what you think. It's not about eating too much or doing too little.

Murder-He died in place of a murderer- and every sin under the sun, except blasphemy of the Holy Spirit which is the unforgivable sin. He also died for that sinful nature with which we are all born and which festers and festers. There are far too many verses of Scripture that support this to list. I would suggest instead you find a Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, look up the word sin and sins, flip til you find New Testament and look them all up in a Bible. Actually you can also look up the verses in Old Testament as the animal sacrifices used for sin were a prelude to and a sign of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for sin(s)

Are you for something or against it. The 7 deadly sins are an against statement. Here is what I am for:

The fundamental basis for any religion is, once you find your faith is:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself”. – Matthew 22:37-40

Therefore:
1.Love God with all your heart.
2.Treat people, as you want to be treated (love others as you love yourself).

In addition, religion should address issues like:
1.Prayer and worship.
2.Pray to find why God created you.
3.Pray to accomplish His purpose in your life.
4.Teach morals to develop people’s conscience.
5.Fellowship with other believers.
6.Rituals.
7.Other faith based issues that are related to your religion.

“A human being is not a human being while his tendencies include self-indulgence, covetousness, temper and attacking other people.” – Abu Hamid al-Ghazali

Many people believe that the seven deadly sins are somehow the worst sins you could commit, or the ones that'll really get you damned. They are wrong.

The seven deadly sins are simply the categories that a group of people decided every single sin that could be commited fall into.

Those are the 7 carnal aspects that bring pleasure to a human. "The Satanic Bible" discusses them in detail, why the Christian religion despises these "sins," and why it is worse to abstain than to indulge.

The one truly deadly sin that is universal to all religions and non-religions (atheism, agnosticism, etc.) is ignorance. Nothing is more evil than willful stupidity.

The Sins of the Flesh aren't as Bad or as Important as the Sins in the Spiritual Realm.

The ironic thing is that these "deadly sins" insured the survival of humanity.

Early man had to lust, be greedy, strong, prideful and be wrathful in order to carry their genes to the next generation, or die off like the weaker members.

This is a loaded question. You'd do better to consult the King James Version of the Bible on a regular basis, there is also a Strong's concordance online that will prove helpful, and avoid churches and so called ' Christians. ' Seek and you shall find is not an empty phrase.
