I need to buy a used car but I want something that is just cool looking in general.. where you feel awesome driving it, but at the same time is reliable. I have about $4000 I've saved up. Please help!

$4000? Fun but works? try a Pontiac Grand Prix. A 1999-2003 should be available for that price. Mustangs are a good choice as well. Hondas & Toyota are boring....

I wish I knew what state you are in. Do you know anyone who has access to you regional auto auctions. This is where dealers buy there vehicles for sale at their dealerships. It is mostly leased vehicles and some cars where the owners could no longer afford there vehicles. Imagine kelly blue books private party price slashed in half and that's about where your at. If you like sports cars you could have a 2001 Mustang or for SUV a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, I know it sounds incredible but mark ups on used vehicles are insane. these auctions are a godsend. you just need to have about 4 or 5 cars your willing to drive and then get the one with the right price. Go there with a mechanic, my father in law is a mechanic so I'm lucky, but the Montero is an example fro last weeks auction in Buffalo, NY. Silver Montero sport, 42000miles, mechanically perfect finished 4 yr lease, sold for a little over 4 grand 4WD leather V6 I normally broker large boats but sometimes I'll make exceptions and can find referrals. Good Luck!

Ur gonna want a 2 door..a sports car..something sporty..something that people can see n say..wow. U might wanna check out an Eclipse..they look nice in general.. or an MR2..early 90s model, even though its an early 90s..they still look badass and look like they belong in the late 90s n 2000s and it has a turbo engine, or a mitsubishi 3000 GT a very sporty car that u can get for under 5grand. Look those cars up..n u can see that they look really nice, and it looks fun to drive, and girls will dig it

you can get a Chevy Beretta GTZ it has 195 hp weighs only 2800 pounds and can do the quarter mile in 14.3 sec and it has a cornering G of .92 and is available only in 5 speed manual. you might also be interested in an older Nissan 300ZX Z32 these cars start for about 4000 for a mid 90's base model. their are lots of older coupes out their but the cars that I would stay away from are the older Subaru's and older Korean cars because they are not build well and are expensive to fix.

Honda Prelude - 1990+ (the 1992 Prelude is kinda fugly to some)
Acura Integra - 1992+
Mitsubishi Eclipse
Mazda MX6 - 1993+ (reliability problems w/ v6)
Toyota Celica (kinda feminine) - mid 90's

Any Mustang or Camaro in your price range is gonna be ridden hard and put away wet. And the V6 versions are just lame.

Try to balance the price with the quality of the car. If you get a gas saver that you have to spend $500 dollars every other month to keep on the road, or have to try to find another $1000 car to get around in, the savings evaporate quickly. Just look carefully before you buy.
