I have this problem to. I am attracted to depressed looking girls. There is a girl at my school who is a sophmore, and im a junior, anyways, she laughs and smiles and jokes with her friends, but shes friends with the wrong people. there have been times where i have just sat back and observed her with her friends. they are all the prepy type gossipy people, and she laughs, but i really pay attention, she shys away, and shes dresses differently and doesn't seem as if she belongs. she almost always has this blank, sorrowful expression on her face, I don't know what it is, but i can't get over her. i want to be friends with this girl. im intrigued by her, and want to get to know her better. i don't know what to say to her. she is friends with one of my friends, and he tells me about her, but he doesn't even know much, he doesn't see what i see. what do i say to her. my friend knows i like her alot and i think he has told her,he has a big mouth. anyways, yeah, what do i do?????????

Ok...my advice would be...wait...let me think a bit...*30mins later* Ok...one day, when you see her alone (alone as in walking to class, getting books or something) walk up to her and say "Hey how are you going?". Just small talk. Do the same everyday, not actually at the same place, but just ask her how she is going, how her day is etc. It will go from there.
Good luck :)
P.S. Not the best answer but hey-life can be tough you know? :P

You want to be able to create a powerful first impression, so that you stand out from all the other guys. Try something simple (but very effective) like this:

Walk up to her when you get the chance (eg when she's alone)
Guy: Hi, I've seen you around but we've never met. I'm Tom.
Gal (slightly taken aback but curious): Hi, I'm Jane.

At this point, she's curious. She's thinking... What's your deal? Why are you talking to her? Who are you? Let her keep thinking a little...

Guy: I see you hanging out with your friends, but you're different from them. They're the cool kids... all preppy and stuff. But you've got real depth to you that you keep hidden. I see you sitting on the sidelines and you're in your head just watching and thinking and watching.

At this point, you've completely thrown her off track. She'll never expect this. She'll be thinking... Why did he notice me? How did he know that I'm thinking?

Guy: So I got curious... What goes through your mind?

And now you can turn the convo to her. She may be a little hesitant to answer cos after all, you're a stranger.

Gal: Oh nothing much.

But that's ok... You lead the interaction by showing her what you think about.

Guy: Well, sometimes when I'm with my friends, they're all talking about chicks, and I'm just contemplating really deep stuff like the fate of the universe, the meaning of life, and what they're serving for lunch at the cafeteria today.

You make a joke about it, invite her to laugh, but at the same time, you leave the door open to further conversation. From here on, you're on your own.

Good luck!

discover out if she's bi/ lesbian. Like heavily only ask how she feels about gay human beings. Ask if she is attentive to any. do not rigidity her to communicate about it too a lot if it makes her uncomfortable. Now you want to go back to a call on a relationship could not exercising consultation and really damage a friendship. Is it well worth it? reason now and again its not. yet when she will't except then you definitely it replaced into not in any respect meant to be. possibly your only excited to have a sparkling ideal pal. the feeling would bypass and your not attracted to her like that anymore. and ultimately you may watch for her to make the bypass. yet this can take a lengthy time period if it seems she would not like you want that. yet do what feels proper I gave you the options so now you should take action. contained in the great i'd propose you really stay friends. see if some thing adjustments. If it would not then commence with the sorting out if she's bi or not.

=] i understand your situation..

by the looks of it, she might be depressed.

Act nicer to her, don't be shy. girls don't like shy guys =)
be free spirited. trust me.
and soon, you WILL see a friendship developing.
we sometimes think its awkward to have a crush on a friend but if you really like her, you shouldn;'t mind all those awkward moments.

be nice to her, be polite to her and try to bond with her and you will become great friends in NO TIME, it may be a little hard because she sounds depressed and shy, but you may be the one to make her in to a bubbly, lively girl everyone loves to see!

so be that person and you like her a lot, so what have you got to lose? =)

and it doesn't matter if shes friends with the wrong people, you should become friends with her(talk to her about the most randomest things and make her laugh~) and take her away from the people she doesn't look right with.

I think she would look just right with you and your friends, and she'll learn to like you, trust me =]

good luck!!<3

The next time you see the sorrowful expression on her face, walk up to her, touch her shoulder, and ask in a caring voice if she's okay. Tell her that if she needs someone to care, that you'll be there for her. It does sound like she's depressed; maybe something's going on with her that she's scared to talk about.

Introduce yourself to her and invite her to hang out with you and your friends or with just you. After you know her a bit keep asking her to hang out with you.. Thats the way i met my friend that was with the wrong crowd, and haning out with ppl that werent druggies etc changed her life and shes still my best friend. Slowly introduce more of yourself to her. Best of wishes to you!
