I don't have a dehydrator, but i have heard you can make it in an oven. Does anyone have a recipe for making beef jerky in an oven?
I also need to know what cut of meat i would use.

"Beef Jerky" - 1/2 pound

1 lb. boneless beef round steak
1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

1) Freeze meat 1 hour to firm (makes slicing easier); trim and discard fat from steak. Cut steak into very thin slices.
2) Place strips in single layer on wire rack in jelly-roll pan. Sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper.
3) Bake at 200* about 6 hours until beef is dry. Cool; store in covered container in refrigerator.

You can dry the meat in an oven set at about 200 F. I'm including a link for making jerky that I really like.

Buy a dehydrator that is used for fruits. Put the strips of raw meat on the dehydrator with salt, pepper to taste and Adobo. Dehydrate overnight and check to see if it is to your liking the next day!
