If you have only a Visa means that you can go to the US stay there for a certain period of time. Usually is threee months, go back to you home, come over to the US stay for more thre months. Go home. That is what it means. I do not know what type of Visa you have but if is only for tourism, you are not allowed. You have to get married with someone to become citizen. If you are from Colombia for example, you can apply for political asylum, but you will never be able to come back to Colombia. Now if you have a work Visa. type B2. I can apply for citizenship, and you do not need to get married, but you have to work and stay inside the country for ten good years. Good Luck
