Agreed. If you're interested (but obviously just getting to know him), just the fact that you remember his birthday with a small, thoughtful gift will really impress him.
But anything from an iTunes gift card to something more related to one of his personal interests (that you're just starting to learn about, right?) will be much appreciated.

If you are still associating with him then, get him a card that expresses y'alls relationship (whatever that may be) and perhaps take him out to lunch or dinner...
Unless you know what he likes and want to get him a little gift...at that point you'll only have known him about 6 wks, so I wouldn't go too overboard...

I think it totally depends on how much you two hang out together. If you are hitting it off well and hanging out alot, then yeah, find out his fav. sports team, and get him a t shirt or hat. But if you just see him every so often, then nah, just tell him Happy B-day and take it from there.

Don't feel like you have to get him anything, but maybe you could bake him cookies or something. Don't go overboard or he'll think you're insane.
