If you have trial and it expires you cant type any documents. You can use alternitive programs like http://openoffice.org or http://www.abisource.com/ if you want to convert it so you can type on Microsoft Word make you when you save As you save the extension as .doc

Try using Wordpad. Go to 'Start' ---> Programs --> Accessories --> WordPad.
