The numbness in my mouth is wearing off except the back part....I still cannot smile and when I try gargle water there is an open space between my lips that looks like I am spitting water in little droplets; all shooting upwards and then downwards.....

You would be wise to wait at least one hour after the numbness in your mouth wears off. You could accidentally bite yourself inside of your mouth and make things worse.

You might want to wait a little while so that you don't bite your tongue if it is still numb; otherwise, if you are able, go ahead and eat if you're hungry!
