i just used rubbing alcohol on a small cut on top of my lip but under my nostril. i guess i sort of breathed it in thru my mouth and nose while i was applying it. the bottle says i could die?

i didn't intentionally breathe it in or anything. but i could SMELL it thru my mouth, and nose...if that makes sense.

No, you only breathed a little vapour in, you didn't injest any, most went onto the skin. You don't have to worry about anything. The bottle is warning people who drink rubbing alcohol as if it were scotch or vodka. Unfortunately some people who are very addicted to alcohol have tried to do so and have died as a result. Rubbing alcohol is poisonous when drunk directly through the stomach. Other people try to get high by breathing vapours for over twenty minutes or more constantly to get high. You can be hurt if you do this as well. This is what the warning on the bottle is referring to. Rubbing alcohol is perfectly safe when used to disinfect wounds., your liver can handle the small amount you breathed in easily.

You won't die. I think what the warning label meant was that you shouldn't ingest the alcohol -- in other words, swallow it. Just breathing the fumes will not make you sick or die. Warning labels always give you the worst case scenario, and they do that for your protection. There are some crazies out there who try to get high by drinking harmful or caustic substances. Rubbing alcohol is not meant for consumption. It's not the same as whiskey or bourbon -- it's a different form of alcohol. Putting it under your nose or lip should not harm you in any way.

I think that would apply if you were in a small confined area and breathing itin for hours at a time. Your doctors office uses it all the time and smelling it. They do fine and so will you!

No! It's okay. A few fumes won't hurt you. It's only bad if you breathe a lot of it and don't get enough oxygen.
The cut's disinfected now, so just wash it off if you're worried.

You'll be fine. Wash your face off with some soap and dry it well. I have used alcohol on pimples and such on my face before, and guess what? I'm still alive!

Next time use Hydrogen Peroxide Somewhat LESS deadly
But whatever you do DOOOO NOT I REPEAT DO GO NERE ANY FLAME!!!!!!!!!! OR LIGHT A MATCH OR A LIGHTER NOOTING!
