its in my left elbow and i don't know why. i don't play any sports, i haven't done any push ups in like a week or something. it just all of a sudden started hurting yesterday and has gotten worse today. i still have a full range of motion and the pain is tollerable but still. any clues to what it could be, and any other advice other then see a doctor?

How weird -- I've had a pain in my right elbow for a few days. I think it comes from sleeping wrong -- it was almost gone one morning, but then came back again.

First, check out how you sleep. Is your elbow bent while you are sleeping?

Second, have you been doing more computer or video games lately? Make sure you are doing them ergonomically.

Have you had any changes in your diet -- especially more salt than usual? Try cutting down on the salt and drinking lemon juice (as lemonade is OK).

Wrap the elbow to support it, do stretches morning, noon and night (3x a day (-:) and try ice and heat to see if either helps. An aspirin might help it, too.

When you stretch, be sure to work your whole back and arms -- you might have a stiff muscle elsewhere that is causing you to use your elbow funny.

Good luck, and I hope you feel better! Do go to the doctor if nothing helps over a week.
