Think about this, it was in todays news. The Catholic Church, from Vatican City, the city with a wall around it, tell the U S A, that we can not put up a fence?

I came from the Catholic family, but I don't agree with the Church on this illegal issue. The Church has no right whatsoever to meddle in the U.S affairs. Border fence must be done before the democrats take over the Congress.

Its a good thing for seperation of church and state. The only reason the church is doing this is because they are going out of business per say. Tons of churches all over are closing down. I'm catholic and have not been to church in years. There not getting money from legals but a lot of illegals, mainly mexicans are very devoted, so the church figures they can get money from them. This is called a house of God!! So true though.

Glenn it does not scare me that you dont look anything like your picture, its scary to know that you are even uglier than it!!

The Vatican knows that building a fence will not solve the problem. If the U.S. government would listen, they would save billions of dollars that would be better spent feeding the hungry.

You think a fence will keep immigrants from coming into the U.S.? A river 1/2 a mile wide in some places can't keep immigrants from coming into this country.

Instead of directing your hate towards immigrants, you all need to direct your energy towards stopping farmers and companies from hiring them.

East Germany built a wall as well, and look how that turned out.

Jesus said, "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." (Matt. 28:18-20)

The Catholic Church has been telling the world governments what it believes is right and wrong since the ancient Romans stopped persecuting it and long before anyone heard of the freedom of speech.

The Catholic Church protested about the blood sports in the Roman Colosseum and they were stopped.

I don't think the Church is going to (or should) stop telling the world governments what is right or wrong now.

With love in Christ.

Here's a radical thought about the fence/border. In 2002 600,000 Americans were reported living in Mexico. And since most of the ones I know living in Mexico aren't legal and aren't being tracked there are probably many more. Watch out, here comes this thought.......WHY NOT OPEN BOTH BORDERS....just think, all this land without borders. What I see as an American living in Mexico (legally) many of the Mexicans are moving to the US or are try to and many Americans are moving here..........isn't all this whup te do ludicrous? And think of how the billions of dollars the US spends on THE FENCE could be used to increase the quality of life for people. Just a thought.

The US makes it very hard for Mexicans to get even a visa to shop whereas Canada makes it very easy to get in the country as they don't have enough workers to fill job slots...........

Then the Catholic Church should take all illegal aliens to the Vatican City and deal with them. If they dont want to do that then they should mind their own business.

During WW2 some people were trying to get Stalin to encourage Catholicism in order to make the Pope happy. Stalins answer was "The Pope? How many divisions has he got?". This rings true with your question. In the long run who really cares what the Pope demands. How is he going to back his request up?

The Catholic Church should pull the stick out of it's own eye before it tries to remove the splinter from anyones foot.

I'm not Catholic, but either way I would be careful about the Catholics getting involved in politics. I read somewhere recently that they allowed Nazis to hang pictures of Hitler in their German churches. Can anyone confirm this?
