Lots of people like the look of the holidays but just don't have the time to decorate themeselves the way they want. I'd go for it and offfer a service where you come in and put up their tree and decorate it for them with their things. You charge by the hour. Go for it.

Listen, if you can present yourself well, you can do this. First, you should make up a photo book of things you've decorated. Like your own house. If you are having trouble getting customers, consider doing decorating for free at places like rest homes, maybe offices in the city hall, whatever. Be sure to take pictures of those places, and get letters of recommendation -- you can put those in the book with the photos.
Maybe you won't be able to do it this year, and maybe even next year would be tricky (child labor laws), but if you build up your portfolio (book of decorating!) you should be ready to take the world by storm when you are 16! And who knows, you might be able to get some customers now.
Good luck! Sounds like it would be a great learning experience!

Most people would rather decorate their homes themselves, because it's fun and they usually do it as a family thing. Can you paint very well? If so, you should go around town and check the businesses to see if they would be interested in hiring you to paint their windows and if so, how much they would be willing to pay. If you go cheap enough, they'll be more likely to say yes- just don't let them rip you off! p. s. by painting, I mean doing something like christmas and holiday themes.

I think a lot of people would love for someone else to come in and decorate their home with their own decorations... but I, personally, would never hire anyone 14 years old to decorate my house - just personal preference.

Yes! I have lots of nice decorations but no time! You should charge by the room though, a certain amount per foot. Make some flyers and leave them on doorknobs - not mailboxes cause that's illegal!
