Lemons. Where it originated I don't know. It is a tradition at my home to have one at Thanksgiving because my grandmother always made and brought one.

Most pies are English in origin. In fact, the favourite pie for springtime happens to be lemon meringue.

The lemon comes from a lemon pudding that you bake.
The merigne is from egg-whites that are mixed with sugar and whipped to a foam.
