Family is important because they Will always be there. When everything in your life is crashing, they'll be the ones supplying the oxygen tanks. Family goes above everything, before work, before friends. Family is the most important thing you can have, because these people love you for the way you've always been.

My favorite resources are below - they each teach the essence of family.
I was raised in a family of 5 children and we lived a quarter of a mile from my grandparents. I knew both sets of grandparents and three sets of great-grandparents. Family is the backbone of society. It is hard to see "family" today because so many "mothers" work and so many are single-parent "homes"
I remember the many times as family we sat together in the evening times and talked about our day, we ate supper together at the table, we read the Bible together, we played games together. Family is togetherness. My best friends are my siblings and my parents.
