What's "LW"?

On the new transister I just bought, there are indicators for AM, FM, Short Wave and something marked "LW"? What's that?

in the family of AM radio. mostly private. Frequencies around AM (550-1600kz) but not actually in the AM band.Remember, the lower the frequency, the longer the wave, the shorter transmission distance.
