How were the arguments used to justify invading Mexico similar to arguments used to justify the invasion of Iraq?

The US invaded Mexico in the 19th century and carried off six Mexican states, giving Mexico $2 million compensation.
I would say the motivation was the same, a massive land/resources grab. Fortunately, Mexico regained control of its oil and mining in the 1930s.

The US–Mexican War was a military conflict fought between the United States and Mexico in the years 1846 to 1848, in the wake of the U.S. annexation of Texas in 1845. Mexico had always refused to recognize the loss of Texas in 1836 and announced its intention to take back what it considered a rebel province. In the United States, the war was a partisan issue, supported by most Democrats and opposed by most Whigs. Popular belief in the Manifest Destiny of the United States ultimately translated into public support for the war. In Mexico, the war was considered a matter of national pride.

Your question shows how ignorant you're about our courting with Mexico. Our important agencies have already got an exquisite good foothold in Mexico, as evidenced through the actuality that almost each mall or identifying to purchase middle interior the country is full of American agencies which contain Sears, McDonalds, Burger King, abode Depot, Costco, Walmart, you call it. subsidized American farm products have flooded Mexican large markets with products that undercut Mexican farmers, lots of whom are literally out of economic company. Make no mistake about it... American rules in Mexico, which contain NAFTA, are a huge area of the rationalization that we've had a flood of illegals because the 1990's.

When did the US invade Mexico ? Or is that due to happen in the future ?

Mexico (despite its oil) hasn't been invaded yet (officially) by the US. There are other countries in the front of the queue (Iran). But don't give G.W. any ideas please. Otherwise, the way things are going, instead of saying "God bless America", it will have to be changed into "God help America".
Perish the thought!

hard to invade mexico as then our troops would need to set up bases on our soil to do the attacks. against the law to have our troops on US soil doing this. this is why we have created police, national guard, etc.

what we need is an old call to arms from the old days. the minute men need to rise up in force and go stand on the border. not a few hundred, not a few thousand, but at least a few million.

minute men....do you hear my call?
