The most effective products I have used are a combination of salycylic acid medication (stridex wipes/pads) plus a benzoyl peroxide cream (Clearasil daily acne control cream). This has helped clear my acne symptoms.
I had to see a dermatologist in the past, though, because sometimes acne can turn into an infection...w/ the redness and inflammation symptoms spreading to different areas of your face. He prescribed me a few things, one was an antibiotic to kill the infection that was causing the acne to spread. Just thought I'd add that in case you don't see an improvement from over-the-counter products. Good luck

I used to have really bad acne, and what worked best for me was Proactive. It is seriously one of the best $20 I've ever spent. If you can't afford that, or don't have a way to order it or whatever else, try Clean And Clear products. They're very inexpensive (around $2 to $4 in Wal-Mart), and it's one of the few things that doesn't irritate my skin, but for better advice, you should probably see a dermatologist to find what's right for your skin type.

I used to have horrible acne, and pro active really worked for me. If you are a female, there's this great website that I joined that will you give you all the feedback in the world with skin care/medication stuff. If you did your reserach and is curious to see how other people have responded to them you can hop on to the site and search their PRODUCT REVIEW section. You will join tons of gals, who are having the same problems with your typical condition! WWW.MAKEUPALLEY.COM

I've had a pretty major condition and Pro Active really worked for me. If it is too pricey for you, I do reccomend Neutrogena, if you are consistant with it, you will be able to see results.

Pro active is the best. It is 100% worth the extra you will spend. In the long run its best. You would have to use the cheap stuff for months to gain the same results from Proactive in less then a week.
