Use a really good conditioner! Panteen makes one that is especially for your problem! It's really thick and creamy and works great! It comes in a short plastic bottle.

I'd stop all coloring and just let it grow out. Meanwhile, use hot oil (VO5 for example) and use very good shampoo (mild and as organic as possible) and conditioner. I'd recommend Kiehl's or Eufora. Get a good trim once a month so you'll get rid of the frizzy ends. Use scalp oil to massage your scalp to promote hair growth if you want. Get a 100% boar bristle hairbrush so it'll be more gentle and won't break your hair at this fried, weakened state. Use cool setting when blow dry your hair and minimize styling product. You'll get your soft and silky hair back in no time.

I AM A HAIRDRESSER AND I WOULD SUGGEST GETTING A GOOD CUT/TRIM FIRST...THEN I WOULD GET A GOOD SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER (PAUL MITCHELL STRONG)....THEN I WOULD PROBABLY GET ANOTHER PRODUCT CALLED GLOSS DROPS...ALSO PAUL MITCHELL PRODUCT...SOMETIMES HAIR NEEDS A LITTLE EXTRA HELP...TO LOOKS ITS BEST...STAY AWAY FROM PANTENE...IT IS NOT THE GREATEST HAIR FIXER...B/C IT IS FILLED WITH WAXES...AND WILL BUILD UP ON YOUR HAIR MAKING IT LIMP AND FEELING NASTY

Well, I have fixed that. Stop using steamers, stop dyeing your hair, shower with cooler water that usual. It eventually works out.
