Yes.
Mrs. refers to a woman who is married. Widows still fall under this category. Miss is for an unwed woman. Ms. is for a woman who is married but did not take her husband's last name.
Even if it weren't that way, I don't know a widow in the world that does not consider herself still married to the man she loved even though he is no longer with her in this world. =)

Absolutely! I am a widow and am very proud that I was married to the perfect man for what little time we had together. I will be "Mrs." for the rest of my life.
If you are trying to pair a widow up with a new partner, introduce her as Mrs rather than Miss. The fact that she is alone will come out in further conversation with her - if she likes the prospect.

It all depends on the person who you are righting the letter to would like to be addressed.
My father passed away a few years ago and my mother likes to be addressed with a Ms. She expalins that she still has my father's last name but people would then know that she is widowed.
My sister, that lost her husband last year, still likes to be addressed with a Mrs. but not Mrs. husbandfistname last name. example: not Mrs. John White but Mrs. Jill White (if that makes any sense)

Yes.
If you're being really traditional you refer to a married woman as Mrs. husbandsname and a widowed one as Mrs. hername (eg. Mrs. John Smith vs. Mrs. Susan Smith). But it is still correct to call a widowed woman "Mrs."

I almost lost my husband May of last year. Personally, I still would have wanted to be addressed as "Mrs".

I am a widow. I am still called Mrs. I just use my own first name.
Ms is not only for those women that don't change their last name, some use it because they don't want others to know their martial status.

Yes, although the address is no longer say, Mrs John SMith, it is rather Mrs. Mary Smith. You use her given name with her husband's name.

Yes, because in her mind she may still be married to him. The death did not void out the marriage. Obviously if she chooses to keep the same name then their still is an emotional bond between her late husband, unless she notifies you of dating someone else later.

You could just use her first and last name or you could write Mrs.
