Do you heat the water in a kettle then pour the water in a pot, then brew your tea, then pour it in a tea cup? That can't be right! Please help me get it straight!!!

A tea kettle is what you heat the water in to brew you tea and serve it in your pot. Kettles are made of stainless steel, and teapots are made of stoneware or porcelin. Kettles are not really very decorative, where teapots are very decorative.

Tea pot ,you pour the hot water from the tea kettle into the tea pot add tea bags or whole tea cover and let it steep , brew.Tea kettle is just for boiling tea water to add to the tea pot. Tea kettles whistle when the water is boiling,

I would say they are both the same. In America we say teapot, and most of the British with say put on the tea kettle. So I say it all depends where you live.
