Why do a majority of christians just cant stop trying to convert you into a christian? I usally ask them to stop, a few of them do, but most of just keep on going.I then try to tell them my views for being an atheist just to get them stop, but they just say that it is wrong and that you are going to hell if you continue being an atheist. Then comes the "God loves you", "He is going to send you to hell",etc. Then I finally get really annoyed,I tell them to stop shoving God down my throat, then they say "How dare you disrespect my views/beliefs" and "Why do you hate Christians so much?"or "Why are you complaining about us christians." and somtimes "Why are you atheists such cry babies , we never did anything to you...." This dosen't apply to the minority of Christians that show tolerance through, just the narrowminded, and extremely right-winged Christians that just cant accept that you are an atheist.

I know there is no way for me or anyone else to prove God's existence, let alone religion, intellectually. I think because people can not do that they try to recruit others in order to validate the faith they confuse with fact I was an agnostic for most of my life. I am sixty now so that was a long time (I think Woody Allen once defined an agnostic as an atheist with commitment issues). Well, at a very low point in my life I read some spiritual texts and to paraphrase Pascal's wager "with so much to gain and so little to lose why not try to believe". To make a long story short, I came to believe but as an act of faith. The key word is faith and I never confuse that with fact. You can not prove things with a book you only believe was inspired by God. This is where I think religious conservatives so often go astray. Until God does the book tour, we need to stop using the Bible to justify so many contradictory things.

Why do you bother yourself so much about this issue. You are on a path. It may be a dead end or it may lead somewhere. One thing is for sure, you will find the answer,as to the nature of the path you are on. For now, it is OK to be yourself, and if people try to bother you, tell them you don't subscribe to that doctrine now, and have a good day. The great majority of Christians do mind there own business, but there are some who are loud, so to speak. Further, I do not think you need to explain your present basis of thought to a Christian, because the Christian will have trouble relating to your beliefs, so it would be a waste.

I guess the same reason some atheists feel the need to hang out in the religion/spiritual section, even though they profess to have no souls, so no spirituality, and no religion, yet here you are. Maybe if you hung out in the science/sports/entertainment or whatever sections, you might not have a problem. I feel like crying over the loss of common sense in this world, but you go right ahead and whine about being bothered by relgious people in the religious section. I'm just gonna mosey over to the science section and tell them how ignorant the whole big bang nonsense is, see if they get offended, then we can whine together.

It sounds to me like you have met some very rude and inconsiderate christians. It is not in the words that we say that will show the world what our Christ is all about, but in our living it everyday. Words are cheap, deeds are priceless. The most damaging people to the christian faith are christians themselves. Sometimes it is an over-enthusiasm, but most times it is just rude and I don't like it at all. As someone that does not believe in God, you have chosen a lifestyle that most christians cannot understand (myself included). We feel that we have been given something very precious and cannot understand when others do not want to be a part of it. Saying that, what I do understand is your right to believe what you want and it is not my responsibility to force my faith on you. It is showing respect for others that a truer sense of understanding can start in this crazy world. I apologize for all of those people that have been rude to you, made you feel uncomfortable or have denegrated your faith. They have no right to do so. I hope my God blesses you everyday. You seem to be a nice person.

People will be people. There will always be someone who will constantly be trying to change your way of thinking to theirs. They are called control freaks. Not every Christian tries to convert everyone. Also, if it bothers you so much, then leave the R&S forum. Do you try to push your beliefs on Christians? When you answer, do you say there is no God? That could be construed as you trying to push your beliefs on someone else. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, some just push theirs harder than others. If you don't agree, tell them and walk away. Agree to disagree.

Don't shoot me, I am just the messenger who will answer your question with all of the honesty I know. This is from a Christian perspective because I am one. I think that most Christians value life. Care about your life. Feel they will have to account to God one day when they stand before the Lord and have to give an account for why they did not tell everyone that forgiveness and God's love and mercy were available to them. It is to make sure they will not have to say I did not want to preach to Mr or Miss atheist because he was putting up an argument. They are filled with the love of Christ who thought so much about us that he went to the cross to buy our redemption. They really just want to share with you what they have out of love. The thought of anyone going to hell is an awful thought to most of them. I know their persistance is annoying to you, but really they are doing this because they want you to know that they were where you are at one time and God saved them and He is no respecter of persons. What He does for one, He will do for anyone. Just remember it is out of regard for your eternal life that they persist. They do this because of love. Jesus taught us that love is long suffering and kind, it does not delight in evil. I am sorry you are annoyed and it is true some people are just not good at being tactful and respectful, we are all human beings that fall short. So please remember the reason they are out there being subject to ridicule in public. It is because they honestly do love their fellow man.

As a Christian, I apologize for the unbiblical manner in which some of my brothers and sisters have mistreated you.

After speaking to you about Christianity two or three times and you have made it quite clear that you are not interested, they should have left you alone. This is the Biblical position. After that, your blood is on your own shoulders.

If they are your blood family members (daughter? for example), she loves you so VERY MUCH that it really breaks her heart to think that you will be lost for all eternity. Still, without pushing you, with that kind of love, she needs to let you go. She will still pray and hope for the best as it realtes to you.

Christians have been given a responsibility to tell you about Jesus, for a few reasons, one is to try to let you know Gods love, second to let you know about the judgment of God,,, and to warn you that hell is a bad place and heaven was meant for all man kind and you don't have to go there, and last as a testimony against you if you do not except Jesus ,,,so there will be no excuse when you finally stand before God,,, so maybe you should heed to what Christians are trying to tell you,,,and if we do not tell you , your blood will be required at our hand,,, and i don't want that.... hope you don't wait to long,,,

Religious people can be truely suburn and quick to judge. When truely the only one that can judge your heart is God himself, even if you believe in him or not, thats pretty much the basic law in most all religions. I find it funny that being a religion person how can they be the first one to point their fingers? Whom with out sin throw the first stone. I bet one million dollars that everyone would be standing there stearing at each other. I'm not religious or have a religion, but I do believe in God, I'm very spirtual, moral, I have belief, and faith. No one is perfect, and I do believe that religious people should look at theirself before judging someone else.

I am Muslim
No Christians here have tried to convert me.
In fact, Christians on this forum are pretty cool folks; I have made many Christian friends here..we mail each other every day. However, many Atheists have written me many insulting mails and many Muslim men have condemned me(being a woman) for openly discussing with infidels on an open forum.
