Their soul crosses over to the next plane of existence. If they followed the universal law of love as defined in their culture, I believe they will evaluate the life just lived and then........do whatever it is our souls do in the next phase.
And, yes, I am Christian.

The answer depends upon which Christian denomination you ask. Great schisms within the religion have occurred because of this very question.
Some Christians believe in Limbo. Actually Limbo is not a place but rather a cop-out. It means "It's up to God. We don't know." At least its an honest answer.
Other Christians believe that those who have never heard of Jesus are judged solely on their behavior. About half the people I know who believe this, believe that the deeds are judged on a scale. If the good is greater than the bad, you go to Heaven. The other half (mainly hard-core fundamentalists) believe that any sin results in condemnation and since no one is without sin all those who have never heard of Christ are doomed.
Personally, I believe it's always up to God. God knows more and understands more than we do. As a Christian, I believe that the only sure way to get to Heaven is to be a devoted follower of Christ. For those who know nothing of Christianity, God knows the heart and its His decision.

Since I'm not the One who holds the keys of death and hell (Revelation 1:18), I don't have the authority to decide what happens after they die. I do know that the Bible says that the grace of God which brings salvation has appeared to all men - Titus 2:11. Only God knows how each heart has responded to this grace. I also know that the Bible is very clear in saying that Jesus came not condemn the world but that the world might be saved through Him (John 3:17) and that God is not willing that any should perish - 2 Peter 3:9 - also John 3:16 (emphasis on the whosoever).

I dont think its possible now adays not to have heard of God there are so many christian missionaries out there now spreading the gospel its amazing. Also i know that before a certain age you are considered innocent in gods eyes and go to heaven when you die because you are not at the age to understand religion there is somewhat of a debat on what that age is though

According to the contemporary belief that one must accept Jesus in one's heart in order to go to Heaven, then those people will go to Hell. Even the people who were born before Christianity was invented will go to Hell.
The idea that going to Heaven is a personal choice is fairly new in Christianity; it came about only about 200 years ago. Before that, it was believed that God elected those he wanted for salvation, and the concern was when the election occurred: before or after the fall? The question you are posing wouldn't make sense in original Christian context, but it is very valid today.
I have been told on many occasions by Christians of all denominations that it doesn't matter what type a person one is in life. If a person doesn't love Jesus, s/he will go to Hell and that's that. Personally, I reject this idea, and if others who did not have a chance to hear about Christianity, even though they were great people, are in Hell, I'd rather be with them than in Heaven with an exclusive God!

...Anyone who dies without Christ will go to Hell. We are commanded to take the Gospel to the ends of the Earth. It is imperative to get the Gospel message out.
...Rest assured, that if a certain group really wanted to know Christ, God would get the message to them, and there are many such accounts to confirm this.
...Sometimes folks (and maybe you) become very concerned about the "heathen in Africa who never heard", but within themselves, they have not come to grips with the claims of Jesus of Nazareth, who was witnessed by the Bible as well as secular historians of His day. He made some astounding claims about Himself - He claimed to be God and the only way to God. He leaves you no wiggle room.
...What say you - who is He? Is He a liar, a lunatic, or is He Lord?
This is no small thing - what shall you do with Jesus who is called Christ?
...I urge you to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.
..."And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other Name under Heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12

The people of the Americas before the European conquest had their own beliefs, they believe in a Spirit world, and after death they had also different places for the soul to go to ,all peoples in this planet have an internal spiritual belief of a supreme being, catholism came with the conquest and had a big impact on Indegenous people beliefs, I mean the sun is a symbol of life , is it not/ ,without it there is nothing! the Natives had to bring a test of faith to belief in a man who died ceturies before ,in Puerto rico it was written an Indian chief killed a Spaniard and then they waited 3 days to see if he would resucitate! when he did not a fierce battle erupted! we know who won. Most of us believe thatn after we pass on ,there are levels in the spiritual realm to acomodate our souls, some believe in nothing and thus loose on themselves. hugs.

Although I am not a Christian I have studied many religions and I believe that the Christians of the past would have condemed them to the firey depths of Hell. Beucase they had not chosen to accept God and the Lord Jesus within their hearts. Although it is not their fualt that they didnt know about the religion. I guess that was not thier problem. lol well I hope this answers your question and sorry I know I am not Christian yet I repect every religion.

The Father has predestined those who would be saved. And rest assured, no one chosen will be lost. This saving purpose is the Father's will which the Son will not fail to do perfectly.
John 6:38
All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

Ecclesiastes 9:1-10 shows us what happens at death.
John 5:28-29 & Acts 24:15 speak of a resurrection of righteous and unrighteous ones.
Persons who willfully do what is bad after knowing God’s will may be sinning against the holy spirit. And God will not resurrect those who sin against his holy spirit. (Matthew 12:32; Hebrews 6:4-6; 10:26, 27) However, since God is the Judge, there is no reason for us to try to figure out whether certain wicked people in the past or in modern times will be resurrected or not.
The fact is that not all who receive everlasting life will need to be resurrected. Many servants of God now living in these “last days” of this system of things will live through Armageddon. And then, as part of the righteous “new earth,” they will never need to die. What Jesus said to Martha can in a literal way be true of them: “And everyone that is living and exercises faith in me will never die at all.”—John 11:26; 2 Timothy 3:1.
The “righteous” that are to be resurrected will include faithful servants of God who lived before Jesus Christ came to earth. Many of these persons are mentioned by name in Hebrews chapter 11. They did not hope to go to heaven, but hoped to live again on earth. Also among the “righteous” to be resurrected are faithful servants of God who have died in recent years. God will see to it that their hope of living forever on earth is realized by raising them from the dead.
No human is righteous by nature. All of us are sinners from birth, and we commit sins throughout our lifetime—which makes us deserving of death on two counts. (Romans 5:12; 6:23) However, in the Bible we find the term “declared righteous.” (Romans 3:28) This refers to humans who, although imperfect, have their sins forgiven by God.
At Romans 5:1, the apostle Paul says: “Now that we have been declared righteous as a result of faith, let us enjoy peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
After a person dies, what is resurrected? It is not the same body that died. The Bible shows this when it describes the resurrection to heavenly life. (1 Corinthians 15:35-44) Even those who are resurrected to life on earth do not receive the same body they had when they lived before. That body probably decayed and returned to the ground. In time the elements of the dead body may have become a part of other living things. So God resurrects not the same body but the same person that died. To persons who go to heaven, he gives a new spiritual body. To those who are raised to live on earth, he gives a new physical body. This new physical body will no doubt be similar to the one the person had before he died so that he will be recognized by those who knew him.
I hope this has helped you some. :)
