I'm from Latin America and in Latin America is not very common to use the word "guapo" in a day to day basis, is more for when you write or speak y formal meetings....
You can say "bello", "bueno" for example: "este hombre esta bueno" or "tu si estas bueno" it is kind of hot... that is what latin american guys would like to feel when you are dating...

here are my 2 cents in spanish, as a native speaker i can assure you these are very commonly used phrases:
que hombre mas lindo!!! = what a beautiful man. as in he is gorgeous like brad pitt.
que hombre mas bueno = what a hot man. as in matthew mcgaunehey [sorry for the spelling} (he is attractive, handsome, not gorgeous but hot, hot, hot)

Well beau means handsome in french and in spainsh, i have to use a translator for this one so don't blame if its wrong cos i don't speak enough spanish to know yet , it is guapo.
