I get little white dots on my tonsils all the time. They are like ulcers caused by hormones. I've talked to my dentist about it, they say it is nothing to worry about. This could quite possibly be what you have. If you do not have a sore throat, or a fever, i'm sure it is just that. But white dots could also be a sign of an infection, strep throat....something like that. If you get them regularly though, I doubt it is that. If it is a regular thing, talk to your dentist or doctor next chance you get just to be positive.

Tonsils have little crypts (crevices) in them, which trap food particles. the bacteria in your mouth work on these food particles, and you basically end up with little smelly decayed bits of food that periodically eject themselves from the crypts.
There is little that you can do about them, other than practicing good brushing and flossing. You can gargle, which may help to dislodge some of them. In any case, don't pick your tonsils, the tissue is fragile and you can easily give yourself an infection or cause bleeding.

You probably have tonsillitis or it could be a side effect from Mono. I just went to the doctor and he told me I have Mono. I have a sore throat and I also have white spots on my tonsils. They are also swollen and I can feel a big lump on the side of my neck. Look it up on the internet. You should definitely go to the doctor and get it checked out as soon as possible.

I totally had this. it is called "tonsil stones" (google it). the only "cure" for it is to have your tonsils removed. I had mine removed this summer after years of dealing with it. I no longer have any problems, and my throat does not hurt from it anymore. My husband reports that I have stopped snoring, too.
Prior to having them removed, I woujld take a Q-tip and pop those little boogers out.

I used to get these when my tonsils were really infected or when I would test positive for strep. I had my tonsils removed because of them. Your best bet is to talk to an ear, nose, and throat specialist and see what he/she recommends.

They are called tonsil stones. It's a spot of hardened pus.You should gargle with hydrogen peroxide diluted half and half with water.Do this in the morning and at bedtime, and they should improve. If not,see a doctor, you might need a course of antibiotics.
