My cat just had kittens in August. Their gestation period is about 9 weeks and a few days before she had the kittens a little bit of a discharge began to come out of her girly parts. There is no way to perdict were she is going to have the kittens, but make sure you give her a warm, dry place. The night before my cat had her kittens she wanted more attention than normal and didn't want us to leave her alone. If your cat starts acting like that I would check on her every couple hours or you may end up with kitty stains on your carpet like we did.
Female cats will not eat the babies, but if one is sickly or very weak she may ignore it because she senses it may die. The males are the ones that try to kill their young.

It takes around 63 or so days for the pregnancy (9 weeks). About a day or so before the birth you'll begin to see signs of a birth: The cat generally starts to look for secluded places to have her kittens like dark closets and under beds, try to give her a box in a cozy area with some towels. She'll also want to sleep a lot more and may lose interest in eating. Also, I think, like in pregnant women, there will be milk discharge a day before giving birth.
If you're not afraid to check, trying getting her temperature when you think the time might be nearing - a drop in temperature is a sure sign of kittens on the way!
I don't think she'll eat them? I don't have an answer for that, but I think (and hope because mine is pregnant now) most cats are very loving towards their kittens

The kittens will be born when the cat starts to put discharge through her. She will act funny too. Most likely she will find a place the if warm, dark, and safe for her kittens. Most of the time it is only the male cats the will eat kittens.

cat usually stay pregnant for around 60 days. she'll have the kittens when the kittens are ready (kinda like human baby's) the reason why animals eat thier babies is b/c something is wrong with the baby. the thing you have to worry about the most is where she has then and cleaning up the mess.

Make sure she has a comfortable quiet place for her to be left alone at. They usually pick the place. One used the bathroom cupboard that i emptied and another used a closet. But make sure you have some pet milk, you can buy at pet stores and a bottle just in case she decides she doesn't want to be a mother. You may have to step in.

She will find a dark, quiet place. She won't eat them. A male cat might, but the mother won't.
