iam a white male 17 on the wrestling team. I felt that i was getting a cold a few days ago. I dont smoke or drink. I had been holding my weight at 162 for the season, so i ate little and did not drink on the day of practice. On physical exam, the physician noticed several areas of small purplish spots on the skin of the back, thigh and arm

It looks very much like meningitis.
You need acute medical care IMMEDIATELY.
Get your Mom or Dad to get you to an Emergency Room.
NOW.

Meningitis is an inflammation of the membranes (meninges) and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding your brain and spinal cord, usually due to the spread of an infection.

In the past, most meningitis cases occurred in children younger than 5 years. But as a result of the protection offered by current childhood vaccines, most meningitis cases now occur in young people between the ages of 15 and 24.

The cause of most cases of meningitis is a viral infection, but bacterial and fungal infections also can lead to meningitis. The severity of the inflammation and the best treatment depend on the cause of the infection. Bacterial meningitis is generally much more serious than viral meningitis, and timely treatment is necessary.

Left untreated, bacterial meningitis can be fatal. If you suspect that you or someone in your family has signs or symptoms of meningitis, seek medical care right away. There's no way to tell what kind of meningitis you have without seeing your doctor and undergoing testing.

You will need a lumbar puncture (spinal tap) which is not as bad as it sounds. The doctor needs to collect a small sample of spinal fluid. (If they have any trouble in the ER, ask that they page an anesthesiologist. We do spinals all the time and we're really slick at it)

You will likely be admitted to the hospital, and given antibiotics. This can be fatal, so you need to get on it, NOW.

I'm curious if you have ever suffered from Migraine headaches. Some of your symptoms can coincide with a Migraine sufferer. The high blood pressure could be due to your anxiety and worry. But should be checked by a doctor. When you say that you are taking medication, are you taking aspirin, or a doctor prescribed medication? For headaches, the only over the counter medication that works for me is Advil. You could have eaten something that didn't agree with you, that could bring on some of your described symptoms relating to a touch of food poisioning. Or you could have a virus. Obviously, if you don't get better (5 days of this should be plenty enough), you should consult a doctor. Do try to keep yourself hydrated. Drink water at least, or suck on ice, if water won't stay down. I hope you feel better.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

The Doctor should have admitted you to intensive care, coz that is what you will be needing!!!! Hope you're not joking about this. My nephew contracted this disease, luckily he got to a Dr immediately. You could lose your limbs or die. You haven't a lot of choice. I think it's Meningacocchal disease. spelling? Good luck.

You could have an acute staphylococcal infection, or meningitis. In any case you need to go to a doctor, or urgent care center immediately! Go now, don't wait.

omg that so sounds like meningitis.

write back and tell us you're okay once you've been to the hospital

(that's right hospital not doctor. this is an emergency if you have the symptoms of meningitis. )
Phone before you go to tell them what you suspect it is as they may need to quarantine you or something like that
