My neighbor's Doberman bit my cat today in the hind quarters area. She was able to break free and run up a tree. I convinced her to climb down and she is able to walk fine. There is no blood or puncture wounds. I felt for broken bones and tender spots. Apparently she is really sore, and just wants to rest. What can I give her to take away the pain or just help her sleep comfortably?
Thank you.

If you absolutely can not get her to the vet you can give her a half of eye dropper full of childrens liquid benedryl. It will help her rest comfortably and will not harm her in any way. My cat was ill and my vet actually perscribed it for her for an alergic reaction. Good luck, make sure she is eating and drinking and keep a close eye on her.

There is nothing you would have that is safe to give her for tonight. In future get a bottle of Rescue Remedy from a health foods store to keep in the house for this sort of trauma. She could use some tonight.

Though flower essences are used for emotional issues when your cat has been attacked in this way she is very stressed and stress intensifies any pain. You can use it if the injury is serious as you are on the way to the vet.

She will feel better after a good night's rest in the safety of her home. You can also use the homeopathic remedy Arnica at the 30C dosage about three times a day for pain (approved by my vets) and I don't imagine that is something you could find tonight to help her.

I do hope she is OK and did not receive any serious injury.

I would make an appointment with the vet to make sure she doesn't not have any broken bones. We can feel all we want to and she will even be able to walk on it even if there is something broken. A dobermans jaw is stronger than a cats bones. There may be some other injuries. Better safe than sorry!

If your cat is walking fine and no puncture wounds chances are it is fine. You should call a vet and get advice from them on how to proceed. They can also tell you what you can do for your cat's discomfort. Keep an eye on any changes in the way your cat acts. Good luck.

Just let her sleep in a quiet corner by herself, leave food and water close by.

I know you don't want to take her to a vet, but if you have a great vet you should at least call and talk about it further. My cat once got a cist and her leg was a bit odd the rest of her life. Cat's can get them from bites, that's pretty much what they get them from. We had to give ours medicine for awhile. You couldn't tell until she started limping, so beware - your cat could get something like this. Keep a really close watch on her, call a vet, and consider taking her in.

If you can't take her to a vet, make sure she has a warm, quiet place to sleep. Place a bath towel in your dryer and run it for a few minutes to let it get warm. Then place it in her bed for her to lay on. She will love the warmth and it will be good for her soreness. Do NOT give her any medication unless instructed by your Vet. Go ahead and give your Vet a call tomorrow and ask for some advice.

the very final subject the sick kitty desires is stress. Please, for her sake, save her in a quiet section faraway from the different cat. additionally, do no longer feed very lots good away. many people by risk kill ravenous animals via feeding them too lots too quickly. provide frequently water at this element and feed her purely somewhat at a time -- like according to risk a teaspoon -- you ought to grant it each and every few hours if she does not have diarrhea. After the 1st 24 hours -- if all is unquestionably -- you are able to progressively boost the quantity of few you grant. thank you for bringing her in and rescuing her! Now watch her close and take good care of her. : ) attempt to get her in to be sure a vet asap. do no longer issue approximately them getting alongside purely yet. Get her healthful first. Then she'll be waiting to hold her very own and he or she and the 1st cat can be sure rank later.

take her to the vet...she will most likely end up with an absess and will have to be treated and put on antibiotics. She could also have some damage that you cannot see. The vet will be able to give her safe pain medication since cats are very sensitive and CANNOT take ANY human medications for pain. Human meds can kill them. Don't let your cat suffer....take her to the vet.

Take her to the vet and they should put a on her and when you bring her home you should make her a really comfortable bed for her. And when she get in the bed put a blanket on her to keep her from getting cold.Make her another bed in another room so then she can lay down an other room. This will help heal faster and not get infected.

You need to ask a vet's advice, you can easily poison a cat with human medication. It sounds like the poor thing is in shock too which is hardly surprising. I hope she is OK.
