I have been getting annoying emails from someone claiming to be a lawyer. All the emails are COMPLETLY screwed up. They look as if they were written by a 5 year old. In all of them, I am never accused of anything. They are just threats over and over again, saying "you MUST contact me at something@aol.com or you WILL be taken to court!" (Or something along those lines) So, my question is, is it illegal to impersonate a lawyer? And if so, what kind of charges can be brought up against this person?

It's spam. Just ignore it. There's nothing you can legally do except report it as spam.

It's over the internet...ignore it.

If there is a link on the email DO NOT OPEN IT.

This is spam. Lawyers use the courts, U S mail, etc. to contact people, not email.

Report it to aol (or whoever) and block the address.

i do no longer think of this comes below the heading of "impersonating a lawyer". this is in simple terms some wacko attempting to annoy you for his own ill motives. particularly than call the police (they could no longer do something besides) i might touch AOL with the story and ask them to % out this nut, and/or pull his account. in the event that they gained't do something, set up a block on your digital mail account in simple terms as though it have been unsolicited mail.

We could have some fun with it. Email me and I'll give you my business email address, and we can see how he likes a response from a real lawyer.

no, but the ones where you are told to inherit 4 billion dollars are illegal also.

Most likely they want you to contact them, and give them personal info.

report them to your server, thier server and block thier email address
