Some girls are really evil. They will tell the girlfriend anything to get her to break up with a guy just because they want a shot at the guy. It happens more than you would think with younger girls but not as much with the older women because we are more willing to get at the truth and make things work.

I did cheat once and got told on when I was 16(just kissing and heavy petting). I denied it but he broke up with me anyway. Haven't done it since.
