The word religion can be defined as a set of guide lines to
- rely on (religion) to enable us to live and let live. We should live in a manner that others could also live comfortably.

All religions of the world can be divided into two parts. The first part is the good conduct - which is common to all religions of the world ( like the ten commandments). The second part is the doctrine, which is different from religion to religion depending upon the time and place from which it was evolved.

Those who take the first part seriously and second part lightly, is loved by all and there is always people ready to hear what that person has to say. Those who take the second part seriously and first part either lightly or not at all, create world wars and disputes among people.
Belief on the other hand is changing and does not have to bear any rhyme or reason.

My definitions :

Religion is the ethics and the accepted code of conduct by a group /society which deems that anyone not abiding by the rules is inferior .
Belief simply to accept something without direct knowledge .( not necessarily related to religions but in all affairs of knowledge ) .

How you view the world. It could be said to be an irrational and unsupported view of the world, except almost all religious people say that their religion is a proven fact. Who is to say who is right and who is not?
