No, the only sin that is related to drinking alcohol is getting to the point of drunkenness.
There is no commandment in the old or new testament that claims drinking as a sin.

In and of itself, no, but the bible says to stay away from all appearance of evil and just drinking one drink has an appearance of evil.
When I was still a Christian I was friends with a man who had just got out of jail because of his drinking. He used to debate me that drinking was not a sin, so one day I asked him if he liked me and looked up to me and he said yes, I also asked him what he would feel or think if he saw me drink one beer, and he said he would not be able to handle that and go out and get drunk because he looked up to me so much.
I made my point and he never again debated me about drinking.
Christians you who drink. How often is you good influence destroyed because you have to have a DRINK SAYING IT IS NOT A SIN TO DRINK?
Like it or not Jesus and his church is judged by the actions of his disciples.
I don't care myself, I am Wiccan now, but really you Christians should be more aware of your influence. I say this because even though I left Christianity, I still have fond memories and if all who claimed to serve God actually did, this world would be better off. It is far too easy for people to say all have sinned and I am just a saved sinner, much easier than to actually follow Christ and keep his commands.
Yes, Jesus drank, but he lived in a time when drinking wine was sometimes safer than drinking water. Medicine was not as evolved.
What would Jesus do if he lived today with today's technology and medicine and with the abuse that alcohol has. Do you really think he would still drink? Think about the influence alcohol has.

Definitely it is wrong.
Although, if I remember correctly, a recent study in a certain southeast asian country showed that majority of the male population were Roman Catholics who drank alcohol by the cases and justify it by saying they are only drunk when they pass out or throw up.
FYI...wine and grape extracts aren't forbidden in the Christian bible...only hard alcohol.
Peace.

If drinking were wrong, Jesus would not have turned water into wine at the wedding feast as his first miracle. However, it is wrong to stumble someone else (perhaps, someone with an addiction to alcohol) and it is also wrong to lose self-control as we might bring reproach on God's name.

It is wrong for a christian to be drunk. Drunkeness is a sin.
So there is a difference.
Proverbs 26:9
Like a thorn that goes up into the hand of a drunkardis a proverb in the mouth of fools.
Romans 13:13
Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy.
1 Corinthians 5:11
But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler--not even to eat with such a one.
1 Corinthians 6:10
nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Um...Jesus' first miracle was to turn water into wine. Right? Surely it must have been okay for the people attending that wedding party to drink the wine Jesus made?

Yes for any one who is on a spiritual path it only puts one in more illusion. The point of being spiritual is being in reality. Intoxication of any kind is in the mode of ignorance and puts one in darkness and attracts ghosts. Christ drank wine, his first miracle of his public life was to turn water into wine for wedding guests to drink so...one can extrapolate that it is ok...not to excess however....everything in moderation.
