If you are in the UK, soon you may be able to order alcohol and cigarettes from abroad, pay the local price, and NOT PAY UK taxes on them. Gordon Brown must be well pleased, he may have to put up a highly visible tax to compensate for the loss of the stealth tax on those goods. It is felt that many people will buy such goods over the Internet in future - then you will be able to afford as much as you like!!

One thing being a smoker, you/I are environmentally friendly, as your/my lungs get smaller we breathe in less air.
At least we will no longer have to go into dirty scummy pubs to buy our black market baccy and we will not have to leave the house as we will be able to buy it over the net. At present a pouch of cutters choice is 3.20 Euros, that is about £2.20.At present I pay £5.50 for 50grams, which lasts me a week, so my weekly smoke will still cost less including postage, than I am paying already.
So there is no incentive for me to give up.
When it goes through the courts next month, it will be passed in our favour, so what are the government going to do when they lose all the money us tax payers have been robbed off for many years.
The buggers will no doubt try to find a way of taxing sex, as there is nothing else left for them to tax!

Your generous donations to local and state governments is admirable. However, if you end up on skid row or the cancer ward and then on some form of government assistance, all your patriotism and generous tax paying will be for naught.
So drink moderately and if you still want to pay more taxes, you can pay mine.

Help yourself. Enjoy the moment, steal em, then get sent to prison, sue the government for mental anguish and cold turkey (alcohol), then with winnings, sail to france, buy out all stock in warehouse, then sell it cheap over here. lol

you can have as much as you want, but consider the repercussions and you must be over 18 for cigs and over 21 for alcohol

Sure you can as long as you pay for it and don't steal it. You see- its the government's $$ making scheme (and also population control!) you can kill yourself as long as you don't endanger anyone else. What gets me is if you do steal it- in turn they'll put you in jail and pay for your housing, clothing, and food! Amazing isnt' it?!~
