If you were sent a scanned image file is it a jaypeg? Images can't be edited in text editors. There's no text info in the image.

But some Optical Character Recognition programs will let you import a jaypeg.
Or you could print it out, then scan into OCR software it and edit it.

If you scanned the document as text, using 'optical character recognition' (OCR) software, you'll be able to edit it. If it's only a couple of pages long and there's a lot of editing, it might be quicker to re type.

If you have a program called FineWriter (it can be downloaded free if you type in the name into Google's search window). It is great for editing scanned text which you can't do on a photo editor.

If you have the correct software. Some photo editing software programs allow you to import it into a word processor and/or allow you to edit it right in that program. If it's a lot of text it is worth looking in to.
