Why are poeple trying to erase GHod from the Government and prove he doesn't exist? I read in the paper that a man had scientific proof God doesn't exist then later withdrew his claim. First of all, who would go through so much work to try n disprove a good thing? it doesn't make sense. HOenstly no one cares about how much evidence you find on God we're still gonna believe. Becuase it is through faith we are saved. Also Let me ask non believers. What happens when you die?

well considering its the religious who keep science (especially medical science) from progressing...id say theanswer was pretty obvious. i bet if we had no religious barriers we could well b on a way to curing or at least relieving alot of diseases and conditions.

people want to move religious barriers because theyre nothing but pointless obstacles.

god, logically, is not a good thing. its a good thing to you because if most likely fills apsychological void you have. it gives yo ua warm fuzzy feeling. if you dont udnerstand what i mean look at it this way, when a suicide bomber "martyrs" himself (blows himself up) the family gets a warm fuzzy feeling inside because they beleive its a good thing. they beleive the person did god work,

to those they blew up its a bad thing.

im not saying yo ucant beleive. by all means beleive what you wish. just dont try and stop us from curing diseases and what not because you think biomass (stem cells) are holy.

when i die i rot. thats what happens. the body cannot live without the mind therefore i cease to exist.

welcome to reality. where religion is a barrier and when you die you DIE!

well, your question is a bit scattered, but I'll do my best.

I don't think anyone is trying to prove god doesn't exist - that's impossible to do. What believers CAN'T do is prove it does exist. So if you have actual evidence that god exists, I know many, many people who would be absolutely thrilled to look at it.

God does not belong in government - that's why it needs to stay out and be "erased" from the areas where radicals have inserted it.

As for god being a "good thing", why do you think that? Some very strong arguments can be made that god is a terrible thing that leads to much suffering, ignorance, oppression and death that would simply not otherwise occur. If you weren't so blinded by the brainwashing you've been through, you'd probably see that.

All that anyone knows is that when we die - when anything dies - consciousness is lost, the body begins to decay at a rapid rate and (if the body is buried in the ground naturally) is "reincarnated" as soil and plant food. It's a beautiful system that's backed up with lots and lots of proof.

No one escapes that fate my friend - no matter what you believe - so cheer up and make the most of your life!

People want god out of gov't for one reason...religion as a whole (let alone specific religions) have absolutely no place in gov't. Between the Bill or Rights, the concepts of Separation of Church and State, and even the bible (Render unto Ceasar what is Ceasar's), this is a fairly easy concept to understand.

As far as proving he doesn't exist? Scientific advancements would no longer be held back because of faith. Wars would no longer be fought in the name of religion. Hate for those whose lifestyle differs from yours would diminish. The list goes on...

How is god a good thing, if within the first 3 chapters of his own divinely inspired book, he lies to his creation, while his adversary is the one who told the truth? Seriously, faith is like aspirin, it does do good, but only if taken in small doses.

If you don't care how much evidence is found, why even ask this question in the first place? Your mind is not only made up, but you've also closed it.

When we die? We're either buried or burned...there is nothing else. A fear of death seems to be a common thread amongst the believers, and a need to believe that there's a magical better world once they pass.

The burden of proof rests upon those who believe. If you can prove there is a God, then I am willing to believe in your God.

I don't know what happens when you die, but if there is a heaven like place, I know I will go because I am good person. Not because I have faith in what is written in a book with arbitrary opinions and folklore.

No one is trying to prove that god does not exist because it is impossible to prove that anything does not exist including god and the flying spaghetti monster.
Most atheists don't have a problem with anyone believing what they like, what they are against is forcing those beliefs on others and using them as an excuse to justify anything they want to do.
What happens when you die is nothing, you simply don't exist any more all that is left is a decaying piece of meat.

a) Disprove - i'm not. i don't think of it is plausible. maximum atheists don't have self assurance because there's a lack of knowledge, not because it is been proved there is no god. i'd wager that is the very same for you and unicorns. b) Discredit faith - possibly! It relies upon what the religion is doing. The remarkable one is the position faith tried to rigidity human beings to have self assurance that the sunlight orbits the Earth, and the Inquisition persecuted Galileo for bold to attempt to educate data that it would not. even as faith does such issues as this, it benefits to be discredited! There are present day equivalents too, in spite of the actuality that probable not on a similar scale as that one, as technology commonly only receives on doing what it does in spite of religious criticism. i do not attempt to discredit faith in step with se - i'm chuffed to brush aside it as a lot as plausible, even though it is after I see it interfering with others that I see it as doing some thing incorrect. Like some thing else that is incorrect, it benefits to be disagreed with and discredited on those benefits (as diverse from ordinarily). If a faith interferes with some thing through claiming dogma X, and that i imagine this interference is unwarranted, i will obviously disagree with X and would want to discredit X. i could trust a diverse Y promoted through the religion at the same time. once you're speaking about human beings's behaviour her at R&S, this position is a undergo pit! The members are of all sorts from the deeply truthful through sporty jousters to ignorant whiners, sneaky preachies and outright trolls. This bypass-section crosses the conception divide. even as a Q&A, this position behaves extra like a debating communicate board, in which case the jousting turns into accepted. human beings's recommendations are disagreed with, even mocked! Jousters tilt at warring parties with psychological lances, yet anticipate a similar back as a range of recreation. it is oftentimes a unhappiness to not get similar ripostes from the different aspect. you want a thick pores and skin to be right here, yet once you've one, it would nicely be relaxing! Edit: that's a competent question BTW. I reserve my jousting and sarcasm for human beings that i think deserve it!

Organized religion scares me in that there IS no proof of such a deity. On top of that, it inspires people to believe in drastically improbable items like a god that could create the whole universe in 6 days, then turn around and wipe a planet clean of life except those on the ark. Worse than that, there are other organized religions that teach people to kill those that do not believe as they do. Do you think that they are wrong? For the same reasons that you think their religion is wrong are the same reasons that I think that all religions are wrong.

Well, many believe that you just stay on earth and lay there or something. Some believe in purgatory. I, one, am a Christian. People disprove God because
1. They want people to believe in another god.
2. They want you to go to hell.
ANd so forth... There are lots, but really, disproving God is just like how we try to disprove other gods too. If they don't believe, then they're just gonna die....and not go to heaven....

Because men wants to sit on his own throne and rule his own world and be in charge of his own doing ... Because we live in a time of Science. Most importantly... I think people don't want to be told that they are wrong! Especially when it comes to perception of how the world is. They want to proof that they are right and everyone else's ridiculous~
