It makes them feel inferior, unworthy, confused, sad and rejected.
I should know. I was told that same thing, and this is how I felt.

A very sexist message. Some of the earliest and first christian mystics were women. Men did not want to share the power that was part of leading so they marginalized women to the sidelines. If women were not meant to be religious leaders why would Jesus the Christ have made Mary Magdalene the chosen one to spread the word of his resurrection which was the beginning of Christianity?

And why would they be told that? There have been many female spiritual leaders in the past, and I know of no reason why there shouldn't be more.

I suppose this is another attack on the priesthood...well it means you can`t be a catholic priest...that`s all nothing more...she can still be a spiritual leader as was the great mother Theresa etc....you guys exaggerate the effect for your own agenda.if that were true the world would have collapsed because women would have been throwing themselves off bridges for the past 2000 years. I see more women in counselling who are disillusioned over feminists claim that they can have it all and should want it all...not too many depressed over broken dreams of priestly orders.

don't know whos ever said they can't be spiritual leaders. most mothers are the spiritual leaders in their homes so..... look at Mary, Jesus Mother - she was the first and most important Spiritual leader.... gracious she started Jesus on His "action plan". in my 12 years of Catholic schooling our primcipals were females and the majority of the teachers too -- females NUNs that is and they were our spiritual leaders.
** ** ** can you show where this is being said to women because it's a first to me.

I do think it gives a feeling of being "less" or "inferior." When I read Paul's reasoning for this in the Bible, it makes no sense to me. I feel his statements were made because he was a product of his times - and it was most definitely a male-centric world back then.

Do what you want/you suck. Its sad that that message is given to them.
God has used many females, and to tell girls that they will never be good enough for God is wrong.

They learn, men are closer to god then women (the authors never wanted to have a women boss, so they explicitly banned it)
The Catholic (and Muslim) faiths are creatiuons of man to trick people into submission. The holy books are fake so I flush em
