I've been losing some weight lately-- not a lot, just like 10 pounds. I weigh around 180 pounds now. I'm 17, and I'm 5'10, if that helps.
My body is weird, because my-- whatever it's called, the area above your stomach, is pretty thin, but then when you get down to that area below the stomach, I am a lot bigger. It's annoying, becuse I tend to wear my pants somewhat low, and I need to buy a size 36 waist. It's weird because I know guys who weigh a lot-- like 50 pounds more than I do who wear the same size waist.
Am I just designed weird, or something?
Is there a way to even myself out, or something?
Thanks.

Genetics certainly play a part in the way all of our bodies are shaped. You are still growing and in a couple of years you will have a better idea of how your body will end up looking. in the mean time try to get plenty of exercise and eat good foods. It will all work out.

Your hormones have alot to do with your body shaping and you might change a good bit until you are 21 years old. I would go to a gym for a "free week" and get a trainer to give me some exercises I could do to improve my body strength. It might be just the way God made you. You're lucky you're a guy...and have the potential to make your body just about anyway you want it. Good luck honey.

You sound like a member of the pear family. Learn to live with it and enjoy being shaped this way. Perhaps you could exercise and tone your lower body into a slimmer condition.

Talk to your doctor. I think most guys aren't fully grown at 17.

Please have your parents take you to an endocrinologist to be tested for Cushings syndrome.Make sure he/she orders a 24 hour urine free cortisol test and NOT a blood test.

I wish you the best.
