Fruits and veggies, as well as wheat breads and beans are all great sources of fiber. Check out cereals, alot of them are made with whole wheat that are still yummy. Actually, just comparison shop next time you're at the store, the labels are easy ways to tell which foods have alot of fiber. If all else fails, sneak a small amount of fiber powder into something yummy like yogurt or mac and cheese.

There are fiber drinks you can try. My son would not drink prune juice. He suffered from constipation for a long time, and the one tip I have it to make sure he drinks water!! That will help his #2 business more than anything ESPECIALLY if he is taking additional fiber.

The first person to answer this suggested whole wheat grilled cheese - I hope you already know that cheese complicates constipation issues! NO CHEESE!

Oatmeal has some fiber, but it is not the best source of fiber, it only has maybe 4 grams. Apples and pears are an excellent source, as well as raw veggies (or near raw, such as lightly steamed). Steamed brocccoli, cauliflower, spinach, green salads (with green lettuce, NOT iceburg), and of course bran cereal. The only good source of fiber from wheat bread is from whole grain wheat bread, not the processed kind that is generally found in grocery stores. Good luck!

my 2 1/2 year old has to have a 4 to 5 oz. bottle of apple juice every other day. if he has it more often than that it will give him the runs. he gets very easily constipated. he also eats a box of raisons a day. i've never tried it, but many old people (sorry if that offends) eat bran flakes cereal. about 24 pieces of bite size frosted mini wheats has 25% of your daily value of fiber. orange juice works for a friend of mine. also keep your child well hydrated. i keep water or a capri sun handy at all times.

Sneak in Fibersure to their evening meal. They will never know. I used to HATE prune juice and it still isn't one of my favorites.

believe it or not, yogurt. My son was having trouble with constant constipation. He likes yogurt and when he eats one "Gogurt" each day he is as dependable and the sun coming up in the east. I don't have a clue why it works, but believe me, it does.
