Here are the facts:
•Downloading LimeWire is in no way, shape, or form illegal.
•What is illegal is downloading Copyrighted material from other people.
•Paying for LimeWire only gives you faster downloading speeds and actual costumer support. By paying, you are in no way given the privilege of downloading whatever you want without any risks. Not one cent of the money you payed to LimeWire goes to any of the hardworking people that made that file.
•If you do decide to download Microsoft Excel, chances are you're breaking the law. Excel is, of course, copyrighted material, downloading it would be considered stealing.
•Not everything on LimeWire is copyrighted, many programs, songs, videos, and images are licensed, and can be freely shared without breaking the law.
•To identify an uncopyrighted program, make sure it has a circled "cc" (for CreativeCommons)
•If you get a message saying 'this is copyrighted...please respect the law' then downloading that file is illegal.
•Not everything on LimeWire is 1OO% safe or 1OO% unsafe, most downloadable files are free of any spyware, malware, viruses, etc.

Just download what isn't copyrighted on LimeWire and buy anything else (on iTunes, etc.)

Yeah. Excel belongs to Microsoft, not Limewire. It would be the same thing as downloading any song or movie, aka illegal.

Noooooo! why'd you pay for limewire! Read the fine print, what they are selling you is customer service. Limewire is a perfectly free program and legal program. What IS illegal about it is downloading anything (everything) that is copyrighted.

Yes it is illegal. But why did you pay for lime wire? You shouldn't have plus it fills your PC with spy ware. You should go for something like peer to peer program they live out of donations. And no spy ware. Need more info send me a private msg.

Just because you paid for limewire pro doesn't make the stuff you downlod from there legal.
Why would anyone pay for limewire anyways.

Yes, its illegal. If you legally bought a gun, then stole something at gunpoint, is the thing you stole legally yours? That's not to say I oppose using limewire
