I had an infected navel piercing. You need to take the piercing out. And if you can wash the infected area with dial anti-bacterial soap. Do not use peroxide...this can cause Keloids(raised scar tissue) to develop. If you can put something like neosporin on it and leave it uncovered for a few days. It should heal up in a few days. Take the piercing out. Clean the infected area with diluted hydrogen pyroxide. Dry the area and keep it clean. DO NOT put the piercing back until the area is completely healed. Disinfect your pierce ring.

Yes take out the earrings and keep it clean and dry. Cleanse it with a cotton ball soaked in peroxide and wash it all off later and dry the areas well!

You must cleanse it. I use rubbing alcohol........it stings a little, but it works everytime. As long as it is an external piercing...
like your ears or belly ring. Those are the piercings that I have.

Hydrogen peroxide works best for me. I use it EVERYWHERE!
But do be sure it's not an alergic reaction.
