I am very sorry that you lost your dad. You must hurt very much. It's perfectly normal.

Let me tell you something about me. This isn't quite the same thing, but my little brother died on August 21, 1976. He was 20 years old. He would have been 21 in less than three weeks. It doesn't happen often, but there are times when I cry about him -- just over 30 years later.

You will always carry this loss with you. It will alway hurt. It will hurt a little less as each day passes and as each week, month, and year passes. But, it will alway be a part of you and it will always hurt some.

The only way to stop hurting is to forget. Do you really want to forget?

Hang in there, it will be better. Find some loved ones and friends and share your feelings with them. Good luck.

Nothing will ever make you stop crying, you'll find that "IN TIME" you will even be crying as you think of all the happy memories and events you had with your dad. Time is about the only thing that will help EASE the pain it will never go all the way away.I AM SPEAKING FROM EXPERIANCE I was also close to my dad as well as my children, when he past away it was and still is 11 yrs later hard to deal with. Sometimes I just pretendt he is away on vacation. Pretending isn't easy to do when your almost 50 yrs old either.

You need to let yourself cry. I haven;t lost my dad, but when I was younger, I lost my brother and if you don't let yourself cry about it now, you won't be able to heal later. Find some friends and family members to talk to and cry with, and then when you have had time to cry, turn your energy into finding ways to honor and remmeber your dad. I started a scrapbook for my brother, full of memories of him.
