Wash your face thoroughly (until it feels tight and squeaky clean) with plain soap and water as hot as you can tolerate.
Do this twice a day. Pay especial attention to greasy sections of your face and rinse with clean water.
You do not need all those fancy preparations. They just add to the layers of guck in your skin.
Use a mild abrasive, e.g. one of those cheap oblong rubbery sponges that come ten to a pack. This will also give you a good lather from the soap.
Now, once you do this, you're likely to notice an increase in pimples. This is because you have cleared away skin guck to allow all the stuff underneath to escape. Don't worry - stick with it, it will be worth it.
When you get to the point that you don't have pimples any more, keep with the soap and water; it will keep the skin clean and prevent it clogging up again.
Lastly, if you have blackheads (common with acne, but not the same thing) buy a blackhead expresser to remove them. These are badly clogged pores and will turn septic if not cleared out.

Sometimes it is hormonal and there isnt really anything you can do about it, but most times if you try a deeper cleaning method
it should help. Also, I hear Proactive is really good......its a little expensive, but my teenage sister used it and she loved it

Rubbing alchol will work well but it dries out your skin.
Then goatsmilk soap will help moisterize.
OXY pads are awesome too.
