Do your own tats huh? I sure hope you know what you are doing! Wait till it heals up before doing a touch up. What color is your tattoo done in? Was the ink old? Do you have really fair complexion? All those things need to be takin into consideration with tattoos fading. Remember some of the ink will come out after its first done. That is normal! Good Luck with your tattoos. I suggest putting A&D ointment on your tattoo, just a thin layer. Wash your tattoo 3 times daily with anitbacterial soap, using your fingertips NOT a wash cloth, pat dry don't rub. Try to keep clothing off of the tattoo as much as possible while it heals.

just had my tat done as well, had the same kinda thing happen its normal for some peoples skin to do that, here is what to do.
1st, wash it 3 or more time a day with a hand soap that has lotion dont use a bar soap like LAVA or harsh abrasives,
2nd after washing aply the cream "Ink Fix" or someother kind of tat cream on a regulare basis expecialy if your waring long sleaves or pants over t.
3rd the tattoo will fade slightly but after the healing process is over in about 1-2 weeks after that it will start to darken up depending on what colors you got.
Hopefully that works for you, if it continues to get rededer or sore you should see a doctor about some kind of a antibiotic cream or something of that nature cuz it means the guy diden't clean his tat gun very well and you could have a bigger issue.

I have got a red and yellow dragon tattoo on y back which I got 8 years ago.. The yellow has almost disappeared but the red is still very vibrant. I also have a tribal design on my back which includes red which I had done about 3 years ago, its as bright as the day it was done. Perhaps the scab on your tat is making it look duller than it actually is. Also sometimes the skin can reject colour. Your tattooist should be able to advise you and any good tattooist would touch it up for free if there is a problem shortly after it was done.
