My dog was diagnosed with osteosarcoma today. I was just wondering if anyone here has already been through this. I was also wondering if applying hot compresses to my dogs shoulder would help lessen the pain? I didn;t get a chance to ask this to the vet cause I was shocked and upset.

Had a dog with it years ago. Steroids helped get through a few months, then it was time to make "the decision". Nothing else seemed to help. Had another dog that had chemo for another cancer, and would never do that again.
Once it had metastasized, there is really nothing to be done.

I am not sure about the heat. When my dog was diagnosed I was also shocked and upset. The vet sent her home on pain pills w/ 3 months to live without severe agony. He told me that if the pills didn't rot her stomach first then the cancer would take her. After diagnosis of cancer I gave her 2 months and several appointments to vet and decided to put her down so she wouldn't suffer no longer. It's been almost 2 years now and still cry cuz I miss her so much. It's really hard and try hard to be strong for your dog! Call the vet office and ask questions or make an appointment for you to discuss options. They can do amputation but most won't promise it hasn't spread. Good luck, I feel bad for you and your precious one!!!!!

maximum Vets permit you already know that it particularly is terrific to spay approximately halfway between cycles, so approximately 2-3 months after she is complete with this one. some great reward of spaying are the comparable at any age: No uterine maximum cancers, no pyometra, no undesirable or risky being pregnant's, no mess to handle, and a lesser risk of mammary maximum cancers. some people will say that a b*tch has a miles less risk of having spay incontinence in the event that they are spayed and then have a season, yet i understand for a fact that it is not actual. upload: i'm no longer attempting to declare that a b*tch ought to have a season earlier being spayed. She must be spayed earlier her first warmth cycle till, of direction, she is competing interior the breed ring. purely needed to make sparkling that.

I lost my first Dane to bone cancer. She went a year before I lost her. The only thing that could help would be pain meds.

There's a lot of talk on the groups about Curcumin (Turmeric) helping. They say it can cure the cancer. Don't know, but worth a good search on the net. I have read that Curcumin has anti cancer properties.
